1% THC Baseline is Hemp Industry’s Top Priority

August 5, 2020

Natural Products Insider, a leading online publication for the natural foods, supplements and cosmeceuticals sector, published an article today in support of the AgHS Campaign to Align Federal Legislation and USDA Rulemaking with the Domestic Hemp Industry.

Citing the campaign of Courtney N. Moran LL.M., the article highlighted its central concerns and stressed the importance of re-calibrating the CBD hemp industry standard to 1% THC.  The industry currently operates at a highly restrictive .3% THC baseline, which makes farming compliant crops extremely difficult for American farmers.

The article also quoted Shawn Hauser of the Vicente Sederberg Law Group and Eric Steenstra, President of Vote Hemp.  These industry leaders joined Courney Moran on July 28 for an incisive webinar on Protecting the Future of Hemp.

The panel agreed that action is required by everyone associated with this industry – from farmers to ancillary businesses to end users – to know the issues and make their voices heard.  If we want the industry to survive and cannabinoids to continue to flourish as natural health support options, then we need to act now to push the USDA for workable laws.
