AgHS Lobbying Campaign
Agricultural Hemp Solutions (AgHS) Chief Legislative Strategist Courtney N. Moran, LL.M. has launched the federal lobbying campaign to secure adoption of rational final USDA Hemp Production Program Rules, and to pass science-based federal legislation that broadens protections for U.S. hemp farmers and businesses. Having participated in the drafting and in the negotiations that led to the inclusion of the Hemp Farming Act language into the 2018 Farm Bill federally legalizing hemp, Courtney will explain how the USDA Interim Final Rules do not reflect legislative intent, are leading to onerous regulation, and putting farmers directly at risk of losing valuable crops. Hemp for Our Future
Courtney N Moran, LL.M. and Shawn Hauser teamed up with the non-profit organization Friends of Hemp and co-founded the Hemp for Our Future social responsibility campaign. Hemp for Our Future supports the production and donation of hemp-based materials, products, and foods to medical professionals and community organizations helping those impacted by COVID-19. Just like in 1942 when U.S. farmers were called to action through the Hemp for Victory Campaign to bring hemp back into rotation on U.S. soil to help our citizens during WWII, we are calling on the US hemp industry to unite together and take action to again prove the incredible potential of hemp in supporting our country during times of crisis.
